Step-by-step help for running your shop in RVDesk.
Every article names the exact menu to open, using the labels you see in RVDesk. New to RVDesk? Start with the eight getting-started steps, in order.
Getting started
From an empty account to your first paid invoice. Each step builds on the one before it.

Work orders & estimates
Create your first work order
A work order holds one visit: the customer, their rig, what they say is wrong and the work you do. Here’s how to open one and find it on the job board.
Build an estimate and send it for approval
Add jobs, parts and labor to a work order, then send the estimate. The customer approves it from their phone with a typed signature, and the work order moves to Approved.
Invoices & payments
Connect card payments with Stripe
Connect your shop’s own Stripe account to take cards at the counter and online, with payouts going straight to your shop’s bank account.
Turn approved work into an invoice and take payment
Create the invoice from the work order, then record card, cash, check and other payments, in full or as a deposit, or text the customer a link to pay by phone.
Texting
Register your shop’s texting number
US carriers require a business to register before it texts customers from software. Fill in your business profile and RVDesk files the registration for you.
Text a customer and see their replies
Text customers from your shop’s own number and keep every reply in one conversation per customer, from the Messages page or anywhere in RVDesk.
Parts & purchasing
Order parts for a job with a purchase order
When an approved job needs parts you don’t have, mark the work order as waiting on parts, order them from the Parts Hub and receive them when they arrive.
Print barcode labels and scan parts
Give every part a barcode, print labels on a thermal label printer or Avery sheets, and scan parts in RVDesk with any USB or Bluetooth scanner.
Settings & your team
Set up your shop profile and tax rate
Add your shop’s address, phone, email and logo, then set the sales tax rate work orders start from. Customers see these details on estimates and invoices.
Invite your team and set their permissions
Add your service advisors, technicians, Shop Admins and bookkeeper by email, then give each one a permission group or their own list of permissions.
Where to start depends on your job in the shop.
