What’s new in RVDesk.

New features, improvements and fixes, newest first. Shops on RVDesk see the same notes in the app’s Resource Center.

October 2026

  1. Text customers from your shop's own number

Fill in your business profile under Shop Settings → Integrations → Text messaging. After your first RVDesk payment, RVDesk files your carrier registration and sets up a local number for your shop. Carrier review usually takes a few days and can take up to 2–3 weeks; once approved, text customers from Messages and send estimates and invoices by text.

    New Feature

  2. See every RVDesk support visit

When the RVDesk team signs in to your account to help, the visit lasts up to an hour and a banner shows across the top of RVDesk while it's on. Every visit is listed with its reason under Shop Settings → Support Visits.

    Improvement

  3. Refer & Earn: $299 credit per referred shop

Refer another RV shop from Refer & Earn. When they pay their first RVDesk bill, you get a $299 credit on your next bill, and they get 50% off their first paid month.

    Improvement

  4. Help center, training and feature requests in the app

Select the ? icon at the top of RVDesk to open the Resource Center, with help articles and training on rvdesk.net. Under Feature Requests & Releases, Request a feature sends your idea to the RVDesk team, and Release notes shows what's new.

    New Feature

  5. Service advisors can take payments

Service advisors can now record payments without extra setup. To take that away from someone, open Employees, select the person, and on the Permissions tab select From role next to Can record payments.

    Improvement

  6. Messages: templates, texted photos and a phone view

Save your own message templates and insert them with Templates in any conversation. They can fill in your shop name and phone and the customer's name. Photos customers text in now show in the conversation, and on a phone Messages shows one pane at a time with long links wrapped.

    Improvement

  7. Message RVDesk Support from inside the app

Select Support in the sidebar to message the RVDesk team. It goes out as a text from your shop's texting number, and replies come back to the same box. It works once your shop's texting registration is approved; until then the box shows the support line, (530) 782-9787, Mon–Fri 8 AM–5 PM Pacific.

    New Feature

  8. Notification center

Select the bell at the top of RVDesk to see your notifications, with All and Unread views and Mark all as read. Choose Settings in the bell's menu to pick All Work, My Work or None for each event, such as Work order created, Customer viewed estimate or Work order part marked received.

    New Feature

  9. Email alerts when a customer disputes a card payment

When a customer disputes a card payment, your shop's owners and shop email get an email with the amount, the reason and the date to respond by, linking to Payments → Disputes. A second email says when the dispute closes and whether it was won or lost.

    New Feature

  10. Appointment settings now shape the calendar

Under Shop Settings → Appointments, Daily Schedule sets the hours the calendar shows and the default appointment length. Colors & Labels sets the labels and colors offered on appointments and which ones show on the calendar.

    Improvement

  11. Pricing matrices for parts and labor

Build a Parts Matrix or a labor matrix under Shop Settings → Markups, then turn on Auto-apply settings to price new part lines from their cost automatically. Nothing changes until you turn auto-apply on, and a service advisor can still apply a matrix or a flat markup line by line.

    New Feature

  12. Work order (WO) wording everywhere

RVDesk now says work order (WO) wherever you read it, including the WO Settings tab in Shop Settings, the WO # column in Payments and the WO totals on customer pages.

    Improvement

  13. Quotes show when the customer opened them

The Quotes list shows Viewed and how long ago once the customer opens a sent quote. For parts or electronics brought in without the RV, choose Bench job (no RV) on a new quote. Quotes now sits just below Reports in the sidebar.

    Improvement

  14. A new look for customer estimates and invoices

The estimate, invoice and inspection links you send now open in one layout, with tabs for the document, Visit Details and the customer's Service History, which they open with a one-time code. Choose what customers see under Shop Settings → Estimates/Invoices → Transparency Settings.

    Improvement

September 2026

  1. Inventory barcodes and printable labels

Select Assign barcodes on the Inventory page to give every part a barcode (its SKU when that's unique). Then print labels for one part or a selection on 2.25″ × 1.25″, 1.5″ × 1″ or 4″ × 6″ thermal labels, or on Avery 5160 sheets. Scan a label into the Inventory search or a work order's parts search to find or add the part.

    New Feature

  2. Flat-rate technician pay, with partial payouts

Set a technician's Flat rate (per book hour) on their employee record. On a work order's Estimate tab, Technician Pay shows what each tech has earned on approved work, been paid and is still owed. Owners and managers can pay part of it before the job is finished.

    New Feature

August 2026

  1. Email campaigns follow your segment filters

Campaigns and automations send only to the customers your segment's filters match, and the count you preview is the list that's sent.

    Fix

  2. Balances count every payment already taken

The Accounts Receivable report, Work Orders cards and customer pages subtract deposits and partial payments, so they show what's left to collect, and Paid once an invoice is settled.

    Fix

  3. Work Orders, chat and menus fit on a phone

On a phone, Work Orders cards and the search box fit the screen, and a customer chat opens as a full chat window on its newest message. Header menus and tab strips stay on screen.

    Improvement

  4. Void a payment recorded in error

Owners, managers and accountants can void a cash, check or other payment from its menu in a work order's Transactions list, with an optional reason, and the balance due goes back up.

    Improvement

  5. Billing: choose which card is charged

Make default on the Billing page sets the payment method your RVDesk subscription is charged to. To remove your only payment method, add another one first.

    Fix

  6. Your shop now has a short ID

Find your Shop ID under Shop Settings → Shop Profile. Read it to RVDesk support and we can pull up your shop right away.

    Improvement

  7. Customer financing

Affirm and Klarna can be turned on for your shop so customers can pay for a large repair in installments while you're paid in full up front. Contact RVDesk support to turn it on.

    New Feature

  8. Edit a location in Shop Settings

Editing a location under Shop Settings → Locations saves your changes and closes the form, and a failed save shows a message. The tax rate must be between 0% and 100%.

    Fix

  9. Payments and deposits add up to the cent

Partial payments and deposits reconcile exactly, and a payment larger than the balance is refused with the amount still due shown. A paid-in-full invoice doesn't take another payment, and printed documents show special characters correctly.

    Fix

  10. Sales tax and time zone set at signup

New shops start with their state's base sales tax rate and their local time zone. Check the rate under Shop Settings → WO Settings → Taxes and save it before your first invoice.

    New Feature

  11. Estimates and invoices show the full breakdown

Fees, discounts and sales tax are itemized on customer estimates and invoices instead of being folded into the total. The tax line shows a percentage only when it matches the math.

    Improvement

July 2026

  1. Payments ledger

Every payment is recorded against its invoice with method, card brand, last four and processor fees, so a work order always reconciles with what was actually collected.

    New Feature

  2. Take card payments on invoices

Connect your own Stripe account under Payments and email customers a secure pay link. Money settles directly to your bank — RVDesk never holds it and takes no cut of your transactions.

    New Feature

  3. Pages load without blank screens

Pages show their layout while they load instead of a blank screen, including tabs and filters inside a page.

    Improvement

  4. Quotes

Build and send a quote before the RV comes in, then convert it into a work order with its customer, RV and line items carried over.

    New Feature

  5. Inventory counts

Run a physical count against any set of parts, enter what is actually on the shelf, and apply the variance to stock in one step.

    New Feature

  6. Vendors, with merge

Full vendor records including account reps and part numbers. Duplicate vendors can be merged, moving their orders and history onto the surviving record.

    New Feature

  7. Orders hub: purchase orders, returns and sublets

One place for supplier orders with partial receiving, return orders back to vendors, and sublet work sent out to third parties — each with its own numbering and status.

    New Feature

  8. Reports library — 24 reports

Sales, technician productivity, parts, customers, marketing sources and profitability, all filterable by date range. Date ranges follow your shop's time zone.

    New Feature

  9. Inventory rebuilt

Thirteen columns covering cost, sell, on-hand, on-order, reorder point and lead time, plus stock-value and low-stock cards at the top.

    New Feature

  10. Tech Board and Job Board rebuilt

Both boards are now column layouts you can scroll independently, with the status pill editable straight from the card. Assign, re-order and move work without opening the work order.

    New Feature

June 2026

  1. Mobile-friendly across all pages

Every page now works properly on phones. Page headers stack cleanly on small screens, tables hide non-critical columns on mobile, and the sidebar slides in with a hamburger menu.

    Improvement

May 2026

  1. Digital estimate approval flow

Send estimates to customers via email. They can review, approve, or request changes through a branded portal — no login required. Approved jobs automatically advance to the next status.

    New Feature

  2. Work order photo uploads

Technicians can now attach photos directly to work orders. Photos are organized by work order and visible to the whole shop.
