Where to find it

  • Work OrdersEstimate

Open the work order, then its Estimate tab. Send Estimate is at the top of the work order.

Build the estimateLink to the section “Build the estimate”

  1. Open the work order and select the Estimate tab.
  2. Under Jobs, type a job name, like “Slide-out motor replacement”, and select Add job. Or select Canned job to add a saved job with its parts and labor already filled in.
  3. Under Parts Used, select Add part. Search your inventory by name or SKU, scan a barcode, or type a Part name, then select Add Part.
  4. Under Labor, select Add labor line, enter a Description and Hours, and select Save Labor.
  5. Check the running totals at the bottom of the tab: parts, subtotal, tax, any discount and the total.

Send it to the customerLink to the section “Send it to the customer”

  1. Select Send Estimate at the top of the work order. When a technician has diagnosed the rig, the work order reads Diagnosis Ready and shows Send Estimate to Customer instead; it opens the same thing.
  2. In Share Estimate, choose Email or SMS. For SMS, pick the phone number and edit the message if you like.
  3. Select Send. Or select Copy Estimate link and send the link your own way.

SMS only works once your shop’s texting registration is approved. Until then, send the estimate by email or copy the link.

What happens on the customer’s sideLink to the section “What happens on the customer’s side”

The customer opens the link on their phone or computer. No login is needed. They review the work, type their name as the Authorizer Name, confirm the authorization statement and select Authorize. They can also select Request changes and write what they’d like changed.

Demo shop with sample data

  • When they authorize, the work order moves to Approved and shows who signed and when.
  • When they ask for changes, it moves to Changes Requested with their note. Update the estimate, then select Re-send Estimate.
